The new Master Control Memovox Timer offers the perfect balance between form and function. The sunray-brushed dial features an enchanting two-tone finish in deep black and dark grey. These two shades enhance the refined finishes of the model in particular the alternating polished and brushed surfaces of its pink gold case. In the center, the engraved Memovox disc stands out with a display that is as unique as it is iconic. The Memovox Timer complication adds a very practical countdown function to the alarm watch via the small hand finished with a red tip that represents the Jaeger-LeCoultre logo. On the light gray inner rotating disc, the alarm time is perfectly visible as indicated by a bright red triangle. On the case, the crown at 2 o'clock is used to set the alarm and date. The crown at 4 o'clock is used to wind the movement – the notable Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 956 – and to set the time.

The design of the new Master Control Memovox Timer exudes sophisticated refinement, displaying the Memovox function in the most beautiful way. Its dial in various shades of black and grey offers a superb contrast to the pink gold case. The dial of the Master Control Memovox Timer is laid out in concentric circles – the deep black of the sunray-brushed background provides a rich contrast with the grey of the outer minutes ring and the alarm-indication disc. The elongated triangular shape of the applied hour indexes – a signature of mid-century Memovox models – is echoed by the elegant simplicity of the Dauphine hands, adding a subtle refinement to the timepiece.
A DISC OF ALL WONDERS
The innermost ring is engraved in bas-relief with highly polished numerals standing out against the grained texture of the background. Here, the elapsed hours-until-alarm are indicated by a small hand tipped with a red JL logo. Set at the outer edge of the ring, the Memovox’s signature triangular marker points to the time at which the alarm will ring, indicated on a second concentric ring.

Contrasting with the dark tones of the dial, the pink gold 40-millimetre Master Control case exudes a relaxed and timeless elegance, with its sloping bezel, dynamically curved lugs and mix of polished and satin-brushed surfaces.
NEVER MISS A MOMENT
The new timepiece offers an additional alarm-setting function: The Timer. It enables the watch owner to set the alarm based on the number of hours that should elapse before the alarm rings (for example, the duration of a meeting or the number of hours of sleep on a given night). Alternatively, the owner may set the alarm in the traditional way, based on a particular time (such as the time of an appointment or a wake-up alarm to catch a flight). The indicators are linked, so that whichever alarm-setting method is chosen, the second indicator will automatically move to the corresponding position.

Despite being one of the most useful – and charming – of all complications, the alarm remains surprisingly rare in horology. The Memovox story dates back to the 1950s when, with the post-war economic recovery, the world experienced a great burst of energy and inventiveness.
